Howie Bauer
Second Ward Council Candidate Representing Fords, Hopelawn, & Keasbey
Harold “Howie” Bauer, born July 31, 1965, is a lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township & was raised in Hopelawn. He moved to Fords in 1993 with his wife Ingrid and his two children Emily and Thomas. Howie attended Woodbridge Township Schools and went on to study at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. In 2017, Howie was approached by Mayor John McCormac to run for the position of 2nd Ward Councilman and never looked back. Howie was elected into office and sworn in on January 9, 2018. He is the acting Vice-President of the Woodbridge Municipal Council today.

Currently employed at Elizabethtown Gas Co. for 29 years as a Distribution Operations Foreman.
Joined the Fords Volunteer Fire Company in 2002, rising through the ranks to become Chief in 2011, 2017 & 2019. This year he serves as the 2nd Assistant Chief and is slated to become Chief for his fourth time in 2023.
Actively served on numerous committees for the Fords Fire company including Board Secretary, Vice President & President. Additionally, he is a lead adviser for the Explorer’s
Managed and coached in the Fords Clara Barton Baseball League starting in 2002 for fourteen years, where he served as the executive board secretary in 2007, President in 2009, and Treasurer in 2011. He is now an honorary ex-officio.
Heavily involved in many events throughout Woodbridge such as Woodbridge Township Senior Billiards Club Annual Toys for Tots, Woodbridge Emergency Services Annual Charity Ice Hockey Game, Red Knights Chapter XI Charity Comedy Night, Christmas in July Toys for Tots.
Served as the recording secretary on the executive board for the Woodbridge Township Youth Recreation Committee from 2011-2017. This committee oversees all youth recreation programs within the Township.
