Brian F. Small
At-Large Councilman Representing Woodbridge Township
Brian Small is a lifelong Woodbridge resident where he attended Port Reading School #9, Avenel Middle, & Woodbridge High. Brian has always made public saftey and public service his top priorities. He was a Woodbridge police officer for 21 years before retirement as well as a Fire Official, Fire Inspector, and Emergency Medical Services Coordinator. Brian is currently the coordinator of security for the Woodbridge Board of Education. In 2016, Brian was elected to serve as an At-Large Councilman representing every Ward in Woodbridge Township.
Facts about Brian:
Served as the President of the Port Reading First Aid Squad from 1987-1989, 1992-1993, 1995-2013, & 2019-Present where he established the Port Reading First Aid Squad First Responder Program and develops the operating budget for this program. He also served at a Captain in 1985, 1986, & 1990.
Formerly part of the Bike Patrol Unit of the Woodbridge Police Department.
Worked for the Department of Public Works Division of Waste Water.
Founded the Woodbridge PBA Youth Hockey League in 1997 and continues to serve as the League Coordinator.
Elected to the Woodbridge Township Board of Education from 2006-2015.
Is a Life Member of the Port Reading Fire Company where he served a Line Officer and Chief in 1994 & 2001, and currently is the President of the Fire Company. Brian also chairs the 9-11 memorial dedication committee at the firehouse and spearheaded efforts to celebrate the Company’s 100th anniversary.
Member of the Knights of Columbus - Don Bosco Council #5809, Parishioner of St. Anthony’s of Padua, and member of the Woodbridge Elks.

Brian is a diehard Notre Dame fan and travels to a football game every season.
Brian has four children, Amanda, Brian Jr., Kyle, and Brielle, and two grandchildren, Jordan and Joseph.
